>>5729307>cannibal sorceryI recently read a 12-part graphic novel called The Last God, I was surprised by how really well-drawn all of the artwork and worldbuilding illustrations were in their details. In that setting, magic comes from cannibalism lol most of the sorcery is conducted via corpse parts of enslaved Elves. The setting is very intricate, I think it is a pseudo Anglo saxon type feel with perhaps !notZombies and Dragon Age Origins slave elves mixed in, also strangely enough the zombies are thorn plants, it is called the Plague Of Flowers (was this stolen from The Last Of Us Fungus thing?) The narrative is quite convoluted lol it is two intertwining stories, past and present, set 30 years apart involving a fellowship and another that retraces the footsteps of the original quest. I was also confused by the tone of this graphic novel, it is clearly adult and ultraviolent (also there are some BOSOMs, well maybe one scene halfway through of a failed ravishing) yet it simultaneously felt a bit inhibited as if it were reticent of embracing the full Frazetta -esque imagery (or maybe it was trying to be subversive? Obligatory strong warrior queen, juxtaposed with weak-willed axe barbarian?)
