Scolding, "For you see, Inky and Dot, <span class="mu-s">our psychic powers are something able to be learned by anyone with the drive. It is rare for a given person to have powers like them, but not impossible."</span>
Inquiring blinks. "You're saying the culprit could have powers they used to steal the Valentine's Chocolate?"
"It's possible, there could be a lot of hidden gems we don't know about." Then, Scolding scowls. "And one of them could have used their power to hurt Gohan."
Doting points out, "But Peppa didn't detect a fight, no power struggle at all."
Scolding looks aside. "Yeah... yeah, I don't know." She grits her teeth. "Shoot!" She tosses the mug, but the busboy Maple catches it and gets to work washing it.
Inquiring pats Scolding on the back. "Good observation! <span class="mu-r">Though, I do wonder why Peppa didn't use that mind reading ability to find the culprit?"</span>
Doting presses her index fingers together. "Eh, it is kinda invasive."
Scolding pffts. "A bag search is also kinda invasive."
Inquiring scratches her head, then takes another sip of her coffee. "Anyway, going off of that theory, Score," ("suitably rad") "What we consider unique to us has the potential to be copied by someone else, this is true. And Peppa made that package containing her chocolate, one-of-a-kind. And besides one modification for a joke at her expense, that other package she found was the same as hers. Whether it was the same one with one change made, or a second one with one change made, I think it doesn't matter so much as <span class="mu-s">that package she found had to have been the result of the Clothes Beam. And who do we know, who knows the Clothes Beam?"</span>
The other two consider who knows it... and don't like the answer.
Scolding waves her hands. "Now, now! Just because someone knows the Clothes Beam doesn't mean they did it!"
Doting nods. "Yeah, it's like Score said, we don't know who at her school knows it, it could be anyone!"
Inquiring frowns, and opts to peer into the last of her coffee. "It's bitter to think about, but like you said, Dottie? If we paint suspects with 'there's no way they could do this because of this reasoning,' we could blind ourselves to the truth."
Doting slams a fist on the counter, making their mugs clatter. "Not our Izzy though!"
Scolding comes over and pats her on the back, "Hey, we have to at least look into it so we can put these doubts to rest. That's part of believing in people. Trust, but verify."
Doting shakes her head, "Maple, no..."
"Maple, yes." Inquiring nods, sadly. "But, we don't know if the thing with the chocolate actually factors into the big picture. <span class="mu-r">Perhaps Izzy could have just played a prank on Peppa and it went poorly?"</span>
Doting bites her lip. "Perhaps... yeah, maybe. I'm probably jumping to conclusions. Sorry."
Scolding grins. "It's fine, we caught it before it became a problem. Now, I think that about wraps it up, let's get going."
Inquiring finishes her coffee. "Alrighty."
