"Sorry." You gesture at your allies to follow you out of the Barracks. They give you pretty confused glances and even Preston seems to be shocked at his threat seemingly working on you. "We'll talk later." Once you and your allies are out in the blazing sun again, Alexis is the first to question you.
"Okay, that was a waste of time? Why are we just leaving?" She's trying her best to hide the creeping annoyance in her tone. "The whole point was to get the password. So we could get those files. So we could see what the whole training hubba is-"
"Let's think about this." Kiara cuts her off. "Wasn't that man oddly rattled when we asked him about the password? I mean, I would get it if we were telling him to go back to work but just the mere idea of us having access to those files scared him."
"Olivia. Olivia, Olivia." You mutter. Something about that name, clearly a girl's name, though you have met a few men in the City with feminine names and women with masculine names, like this one girl named Frank you met one time. "Could be his sister? Or a close friend? Maybe something about the training course, that seems to be riling him up."
[MILITARY EXPERIENCE] "X-Company is assigned to deal with the most dangerous of threats, after all. The training necessary to make a man able to fight an anomaly naturally has to be brutal." Naomi pauses. "However. There's a difference between tough love and sadism. I would know."
Your group decides it's best to continue this conversation while walking, best to not let your flesh slog off the bone or for Kiara's internal components to overheat.
"So, is it the training itself being brutal or his plans fucking things up?" You try your best to ignore the glaring sun trying its best to melt you. A small group of white tents with red crosses, about sixty feet away, is close enough to just power through it.
"I would assume that it is him not trusting his own methodology. If he is making new training regimes, it would be correct to assume he was assigned to it, no?" Naomi points out. It's a sound enough idea for now.
"Nngh, no, something about that rubs me the wrong way. Quincy said...huff." Alexis struggles a bit to keep walking but powers through for now. "Even the people there don't know who does what. Otherwise they would've known the password, right?"
"Given he feels guilt about it, I'd probably gu." Huh? You glance over at Kiara. "That. He was the defacto. One to work on it." Okay yeah she's overheating. Luckily for you and your group, you stumble over to the swarm of military medical tents. Deciding to test your luck with the biggest one, your group piles inside.

While the electric fans placed all around the inside of the tent offer you sweet relief from the burning heat, the sight inside the tent quickly saps whatever comfort you get. The first thing that hits you is the smell of blood and the cries of men and women clearly in agony.
