The two reports by Kreger and Daisy were portends of the month you would soon have, even if they were innocent enough on their own. You had requested Daisy begin a Vertibird training program and Kreger pick out a new group of soldiers to take over the Remnant’s role as a power armored shock squad.
Daisy’s issues were relatively straightforward, but difficult to solve. She claims that a pilot trainee had hundreds of hours in a simulator before actually getting behind the stick of the Vertibird, due to the difficult handling and confusing controls of the bird. The trainee is also smarter than the average wastelander, meaning they must be not only literate but above average in intelligence. Those people aren’t lining up to join the military as they’re being gobbled up by your government , the followers or any number of companies moving into the region. Therefore, it will be expansive to headhunt the individuals.
This was also done to eliminate any potential loss of vehicle, because while pilots were relatively common, the machinery was painstakingly built and maintained even in the Enclave. Even if the risk was taken and Daisy served as a training co-pilot, she claims it would take months to train just *one* pilot the way she was trained, and that’s not to mention all the extra air hours put in a vertibird that’s close to 80 years old. She highlights serious issues of maintenance that she was never fully trained in handling.
The only saving grace is that she suggested Raul’s maintenance workers begin studying the bird by first looking at the schematics and then moving on to limited maintenance work under the guidance of Daisy. In summation, Daisy will begin training a pilot every 4 months in the current situation she finds herself in only if Raul sends his maintenance workers to begin studying upkeep on the Vertibird.
