"Mind telling us anything about them or...just gonna name drop it like we know who they are?" Adam taps his foot impatiently. "We're not psychics. We can't exactly read your mind here." Your face scrunches up at the comment. IT'S NOT LIKE YOU CAN EITHER!
<<span class="mu-b">"Calm down, Nicole."</span>> Ashley's thought catches your attention. Fine. Calm down you will.
"Mmh. Oh! Mr. Foxtort visited a few days ago! I think he's the one in the jacket you were talking about? He's a very mean man." Casey's smile instantly droops again. "I don't like him. I don't even mind l-" She stops herself. "Nevermind."
"Mr. Sukane mostly talks to Kana! I don't really know him that well but they had a pretty heated discussion. Something about <span class="mu-b">money problems?</span> I-I-I wouldn't know, of course!" It's blatantly obvious she's lying through her teeth here. The others (sans Benjamin) can barely hide their contempt at her obvious lie.
"Ms. Anjaro hasn't...been visiting lately. Last time I saw her was about three months ago? T-though I'm sure she's still sending us money!" Uh huh. "An-and...same goes for, uh, Ms. Wiltshire. Heh. V-very trustworthy people, yes!"
"Oh! Okay!" Benjamin chirps out. "Very trustworthy indeed."
"Y-yeah! See! Very trustworthy! Anything else you would like to know, dear customers?" She's sweating bullets despite how softball your questions have been. It's clear that <span class="mu-b">there's been issues with the sponsors if they haven't been seen in a while.</span>
"Uh huh. Look, let's cut to the chase here." You take a step closer to Casey. "We're actually quite worried about the financial health of this casino, actually."
"W-what? We're doing quite well, thank you very much!" Casey is trying her damn best to keep up her smile. "Sure, we haven't seen two of our biggest sponsors in a while but maybe they're just busy!"
"Guys, we really shouldn't be talking about-" Max quickly covers Benjamin's mouth with her hand. He huffs indignantly but doesn't struggle against her.
"Is that so?" A low chuckle comes out of Ashley. "Then explain why you were having that whole conversation with Kana earlier? Marla might've shown us something interesting."
>AUTOMATIC SUCCESS!
The mere mention of this instantly shatters any attempt at a cheerful façade that Casey was trying to put up. "I-I, uh, y-you see, well, actually, uh, well-" She's trembling like a baby bird that fell out of the nest. Nervous sweat coats her forehead as she tries to think of something to say.
She completely crumples after a few minutes. She sits down on one of the empty longue chairs to try to collect any sense of composure, "I'm sorry. I really am. <span class="mu-b">S-she told me I shouldn't say anything about this to anyone.</span>" Finally, you're getting somewhere.
Adam sighs, "I assume this is about Kana. This place isn't as profitable as it seems, huh?" A small laugh trickles out the back of his throat. "I was in your shoes. I get it."
"T-then you get why I didn't want to say anything."
