You look for a good lie to tell the man. Him being a Kryptonian, you cannot be completely sure that he hasn’t heard of the Viltrumite Empire. Though the fact that he has not recognized your dress or suspected it at all tells you something about what he does know of the galaxy at large. ”I’m only looking for a place to call home. My home was destroyed and I have nothing left, we had records of Earth being a relatively safe haven in the galaxy.”
He takes a hand to his chin. “Really?” He asks. “How do I know you’re not lying? You lost your home even though you’re strong enough to reliably fly through space?”
You frown. “Believe me, there are far worse things than me in this galaxy.”
He seems to reminisce for a moment. “That much I can believe.” The cold of his planet’s outer atmosphere begins to bother him. Kryptonians were soft like that. “Anyway. If you don’t mind, I’d like to take you in to the Justice League’s base.” He points to a rudimentary space station not too far from your position.
“Justice League?”
“We defend innocent people from those who’d want to hurt them.”
Of course they do. “And why do I have to be taken in?”
“Don’t take this the wrong way. Letting you live at earth isn’t my decision. The Justice League is composed of equals and I think they should meet you too.”
You look at the space station, then back at the Kryptonian. “So you’re some sort of border guard? An immigration committee?”
He looks surprised. “I- uh… Well not exactly. This is just an extraordinary situation.”
>”Fine, I’ll go with you.” Better to meet all your possible rivals in one go.
>”I would rather not. I believe I’m free to land on earth and live my life as I please.” You read humans have a strong feeling towards defending one's liberty, it might be best to appeal to that.
