Lalli and Sigrun both are preoccupied with the management of affairs surrounding this inspection you will be conducting tomorrow, leaving you without two superiors to look to for guidance. Looking to the Gods of this strange land might seem like a good idea, but you realize it would spurn them to not realize the options they have already laid before you. One of the last things Sumika said to you the day you arrived in this place was that she was there to help in case you ever needed it. You should take her up on her offer. After ensuring she was not busy directing an expedition, you head on over to her residence.
The lodges of L4 Operators are not like the penthouse residences in the main structure; they are separated “manors” within the gardens of Stormworks HQ. Built into the ground (or the turf strewn above them), they are flush with the curated environment and would be hard to spot if not for the paths leading to their inviting wooden doors and the little windows that could be mistaken for rabbit burrows. It is not too unlike your childhood home with its sod roof, though it does seem like a hole for a creature much smaller than Sumika.
Politely, you rap upon the door, but it was as tough as stone. The wood was made from the same composite materials as your armor, this mansion a fortification all its own. Thankfully, there is a bell you can ring.
It took a minute, but you hear heavy steps across wood from behind the thick door. The door opens, and for once, you meet Nonoka Sumika at eye level. “Ah... Jarnafeldt?”
Shaking the pain from your hand because of your dumb ass knocking on an armored door, you force a smile. “I have one of my first missions against criminals, specifically, and... well, you said to come to you if I needed any help.”
Nonoka smiled. “Did anybody tell you what I did back in my homeland?”
“No?”
