“Well Umgi, we breakin’ the door down or you want to try?” Adok asked as the Peasant as he stepped out of the way.
“Uh, I can.” The Peasant said as he walked over and gave it a few good knocks, “Anyone there? I am Lucian, uh, a Squire of Count Remon. We are here to help deal with the… bad fellow.”
Upon his words a small slit that was placed into the door opened up. A single eye looked out of it and turned over to look at Lucian directly, “P-please lord, have mercy upon me. I have nothing to do with what happened at the Temple nor the man who you disciplined.”
The Peasant Squire could not help but be taken aback by such a reply. He could understand the Necromancer but had news of the execution already been carried that far that fast? It had only been about four hours since then and the sun was starting to set the for the evening of the killing.
“W-we are not here to exact that kind of Justice.” Lucian answered the scared eye, “We are here to see if Samuel is there. If not, maybe his things might have a clue to the… deaths tonight.”
There was a wavering moment as that eye focused heavily upon Lucian. In an instant it disappeared into the darkness for a moment like it was never there. He was just slightly tempted to look through the hole, to see what was happening in there. He decided not to for the privacy of the woman he was talking to.
“So…. you are a… Priest of Morr?” He could tell now it was the voice of an old lady. The pressure of Lucian just being here caused her voice to crack as it tried to reel in the terror that she was experiencing.
“I am blessed by him, yes. I am a compatriot of Samuelson.”
“S-swear upon him that no terror shall be done to me.” The woman quickly said as if she wanted to say that the entire time they were speaking.
“As long as you are not aiding or are the Necromancer, you have nothing to fear from us. I cannot swear it upon the name of another but I will give it as my own word.” Lucian said to her knowing how precious these kinds of oaths were. Swearing upon someone you barely knew was never a good sign, and he was in no position to swear in the name of his Lords. So he gave the best he could, himself.
She hesitated for a moment and then closed the slit. After a few clicks of what must have been a half a dozen locks the door before them opened.
