“T-That’s your solution…?” Vera shouted so much that she doesn’t have the energy to get angrier.
“Is there anything I can *actually* help with?” Liu has impostor syndrome already.
“We’ll find out. Not that you have much of a choice anyway.” You shrug.
“I-I don’t?” Liu didn’t like hearing that. She gets flustered, and the hiccups are coming any second now.
“I mean, what else is there to do?” You don’t see another way.
“You can beat her up with a fire extinguisher.” Vera says half-jokingly.
“N-No! I can keep your secrets if you don’t want me to ride along...” Liu is open to being silent.
“Yeah, Liu really helped me today and I know how reliable she can be, so no beatings.” You bring this up yet again so it can drill into Vera’s head.
“Alright, I don’t even know what your plan is, but I bet you’ll find a dumb way to insert her in. All I can do is to tell myself that Mama Bodil needs our help...” Vera doesn’t even care anymore. She’s more concerned about protecting you and the mafia head. “And you know what? It could be worse, I can’t say a bad thing about Liu.”
“Phew, it’s good we’re on the same page again.” You relax a little.
“Do you even want to do it, Liu?” Vera feels like the key character needs to give a key answer.
“...Yes, I do!” Liu took a moment to look at you then decidedly responded! “Anything you need, I’ll have you covered! If I can…”
“Eh, I’m smart enough to find a way to make you stand out.” Vera will find a way. “Are you good at pushing wheelchairs? I’m tired of using these crutches.”
“We’re not going to put you in any danger, so don’t worry. Heck, I’ll probably be the only one in peril for this!” You smile.
“Why do you say that? Don’t say that. You’re forbidden from saying that.” Vera frowns.
