Formal education and the benefits of his new position were quickly abandoned in favor of pursuit of the fey magic his ancestry gave him access to, as well as personal projects done in collaboration with his girlfriend (now lover (one of two)), the Archmage's adoptive daughter. Instead of living a peaceful life as a researcher Tips was by his own initiative swept up in the conflict between the Gods of Light and Dark, and their forces in the mortal realm. He currently seeks a way for both sides to peacefully exist in the face of dread prophecies and the upcoming age of High Magic, and how to legally marry two women.

He has an existing leadership role in a small community living on a land reserve granted for his service. Most importantly, the tournament organizer is his creator so he can expect some favoritism there.
