The armor settled upon Lucian with heft. He could feel the weight that Adok had so carefully placed throughout the body. The Black Armor that Lucian had worn before was simply that, armor from a Bretonnian Knight which was slightly modified and turned black. This armor, while originally being from the same pieces, had much more material in it that was not only forged but collected by a dwarf Blacksmith of immense skill.
However heavy it is the armor was still easily maneuvered. Plates of steel as thick as the palm of someone’s hand and yet Lucian could still mount and dismount Nightshade with this.
“Now is when the fun starts.” Declared Adok as he slipped the helm upon Lucian and latched it.
Those words might have scared Lucian yet he believed in the Gods that he was not going to die here. Morr would not let him die here at the hands of his fellow, not when there was monsters to slay in his name.
The next moment Lucian felt pain. An erupting pain that he woke up on the ground. It was such a sudden shock that the the Durand had been thrown off his feet. The rune that was at the center of Lucian’s chest was erupting with what must have been fire with how hot it felt lying there.
The world kept happening around Lucian but the Knight could not understand it. He felt his very soul being gripped by the talons of a power that he did not understand. It had quickly gone into his muscles and bones, threatening the tear out the tendons that were holding them together.
The closest Lucian could understand it was like a disease that his family always got. Their bodies were being stolen from them and turned into mush for the daemons within their flesh to conqure.
He would not let it, he would not let this rune turn him into a feeble bedridden creature. With a push of his will the Black Knight gave a yell all while throwing his hand against what he thought to be the ground. He could not understand there which direction he went but it was the wrong one.
With a twist of his body and another yell Lucian felt the giving of the forces that kept him upon the earth. Another exertion of strength gave him feeling in his knees and then his feet.
He would not fall to simple armor. Not until his grudge had been dealt with.
