>>6213393>QM question:I have a lot of these.
I don't like starting threads with a single (OP only) post because then the first reply to the thread will be tucked underneath the image box. This is why I either need to post a second full post beneath it to take up this space or make absolutely sure my first post is long enough; case in point is this quest on the front of the catalog
>>6214296 where we can see the first reply in this unnatural position (nothing against this QM I just nitpick stuff like this).
Secondly, I like to ask questions for feedback at the end of my threads. I tend to think a lot of these questions and even go back to previous threads to avoid retreading the same questions for a long running quest. I find it a very useful form of feedback, but you can't solely rely on it. I also like to do a mid-thread check in depending on the Quest to see the vibe, but sometimes this is used as a crutch in lieu of an actual update if I fall behind schedule.
Important, dramatic, or especially edgy scenes get spoilered for the sake of impact. Once again, somewhat ruined by the choice of 4chan reader, such as my phone app not having spoilers at all, which ruins the dramatic value somewhat.
Personally I want to start more "traditions" on /qst/, like running a special Halloween game each year in October (I missed last year just barely).
>Player question:Firstly, I would need to find a Quest that I'm interested enough in to be inspired for this, and secondly, I wouldn't want to offend the QM. Bad art can already feel like a slap in the face (and yes we all know any art is better then no art but don't lie if someone makes fanart for you you secretly hope the artist is better then you at least so you can see your characters or scenes in a cool or high-def artstyle, feels more of a treat that way then a simple doodle of one of your characters or monsters). Side story would be right out. Even writing fanfiction, something I've done in the past, always felt weird and scary difficult given how hard it is to exactly match a character's personality or relationships. Doing that for a Quest, in which the QM is present where you post it, seems right out.
>General question:I love 4chan April Fools, but I fear having a thread running during the time can mess it up. Even now you can go back to the archives for previous April fools and see things like the emojis or other forum elements there. I worry these could mess up future archive reader experiences. I just hope they actually do a
GOOD one this year! I also ran an April Fools thread of Monke one time; but I feel like the surprise is ruined by the date. You have to catch people who forget to fall for an April Fools prank, which isn't easy on a social platform where multiple others can remind them and the posts themselves show you the date and time.
>Miscellaneous question:Removing the post timer and a permanent archive for Quest threads would be my favorite additions.
