"All because apparently, he doesn't want to run a casino properly. It's justice this, fairness and skill there, it's all just-" Kana groans and promptly slams her head into her desk out of frustration; her ears flatten against her head. A squeaky whine is the only sound coming out of her now.
"I'm not good at this. I'll wait outside." Ashley promptly takes her leave. Your other allies mumble to each other, discussing how to continue from here. You step over to Kana's desk and lean against it. You take a deep breath to help focus.
"Look. I get your struggle, I do. But all of this paper fudging and sponsor lying is going to sink this place even faster. Have you even thought of talking to Clover about this?" You promptly get hissed at for asking this.
"No! I-fuck." Any anger that she felt dissipates immediately. "I don't know how to tell him about this. If I was able to talk to him, we wouldn't be in this situation.
Adam grabs an empty chair and places it in front of Kana's desk, promptly sitting down to face her. "I get that. You know, I was in your shoes once too. Do you know what happened when I let a problem festered?" Adam forces out a chuckle. "I was probably going to get stabbed by my own friend. Do you want THAT to happen?"
"NO!" Kana slams her fists into the table, instantly silencing the discussion your three idle allies were having. "I-I want this to work but-"
"Then let us help. You've done all you could do to make things work in your own way. We can do the rest."
"Y-yeah." Casey joins in the conversation. "I don't like lying to people. Clover wouldn't want us to lie on his behalf."
>20!
Something about what Casey said snaps something into place in Kana's mind. "Yeah." Kana solemnly nods. "You're right." Kana forces herself to sit upright and to make eye contact with you and Adam. "If you're going to help me, you need to know how he ticks."
Your allies crowd around Kana's desk with eager expressions. Kana tenses up at the sudden crowd but after a moment, words spill out of her with ease. "First and foremost, he's still a kid at heart. He's still in that mindscape where everything is about having 'fun with his fwiends'. <span class="mu-b">Hell, most of our top staff were hired because we were his friends.</span>"
"Seems like a poor way of getting competent staff but continue." Max says with a bit too much snark in her voice.
Kana tries to object but she quickly deflates, "I can't refute that. You're right."
"Sorry." Max quickly loses the snark after seeing the lack of bite in Kana's words. "Pretend I didn't say that, please."
"Granted." Kana nods. "Now, you're probably not going to convince him to drop the 'fairness' thing. I would've done so if I could. <span class="mu-b">That's the only thing he really refuses to budge on.</span> As long the outcome is fair, he's willing to abide by it if you can convince him."
"Shot in the dark but..." Something clicks for Benjamin. "Could we get him to do whatever we want if we beat him?"
