In the meantime, I will update with what I wrote on the analysis; I'm going to try to do a little more pre-writing if that will help my speed. ]]
Accounts from various villagers, ranging from slightly rattled to hysteric, have told you this monster is blindingly fast, attacking like a guided arrowhead to slice through wooden equipment, or smashing through stone with his massive tentacles.
Certainly, stone is stronger than your face, so now you really know Qala is just playing with you.
From what you have read about Qala'Myrei, and similar monsters, attempts to kill or capture are met with regular failure; there are numerous recorded incidents where hunters caught them in nets, only for the monster to seep through like fog. The only successful account on record is cited from a tribal song about a man with legendary strength wrestling the beast into submission.
These are the only things humanity, and you by extension, know about this creature.
+But Myrddin looks upon Qala'Myrei, past what he is feared for and past uncertainty, and the hero begins to understand Qala'Myrei for what he is.

His second favorite defense is his rubbery tentacles, whose tips are able to deflect conventional weapons with ease. The limbs are more vulnerable to attack inside of this range, but is certain to grab those daring enough to make that approach; a grip that turns brickwork into gravel.
His mouth is at the bottom, he ensures anything near those tender lips are helpless, for fear of harsh retribution.
His body is the ideal point to attack, no apparent defenses. While this part is most frail, it is indeed most dangerous; through those giant glass eyes he casts his spells. With them, he can become mist, they are constant catalyst to his natural speed and strength, and in times of desperation, he can sweep waves of fire across the land.
But in relying on the arcane, the monster has squandered his natural ability.+
