I tried to cut a few excerpts this is one of the best sections of the novel, when Eisenhorn calls a congregation of psykers and enters the horrific warp twisted dream mind of the heretic Malahite. Eisenhorn is also simultaneously battling against the intrigues of a rival inquisitor, an insane Xanthite (radical) named Molitor who believes in wielding the weapons of Chaos against Chaos itself (yes, it is obvious that he has fallen to corruption and damnation). The reason Eisenhorn resorts to this horrifying dream warp seance is because Malahite has already been tortured to the verge of death by the radical Xanthite inquisitor as he was desperate to extract his knowledge of warp secrets and conspiracy. As Eisenhorn enters the warp realm accompanied by his loyal and steadfast puritanical Monodominant mentor, Commodus Voke, they realise that it is actually a trap and that Malahite knows already he is condemned to death and torment, all he intends is to collapse the warp realm upon them whilst unleashing some daemonic chaos warp spawn upon the attendant psyker congregation. This is one of the coolest sequences in 4pk ever written by Abnett, in fact the entire Eisenhorn series is just sheer perfection. If you are interested in similar psyker / warp antics, I also recommend the graphic novel Daemonifuge featuring Ephrael Stern (Sisters Of Battle).
Hopefully you can read my pic related if you zoom in on PC lol or enable that free zoom / magnification browser setting on mobile lol (I had to cut out a middle section because it is super long there is a lot of back story about the Necroteuch this cursed warp grimoire and Pontius Glaw etc etc).
The reason why the Eisenhorn series is so incredible is it depicts gradual downfall, Eisenhorn begins as a very reasonable Amalathian (moderate) inquisitor, gradually as the series progresses, and the horrors he confronts escalate, he is forced to take more and more extreme measures, until he becomes barely indistinguishable from the chaos heretics he fights himself
