>>5881927>MAGIC vs reality???So The Wheel Of Time from amzn attempts to inject some obligatory modern REPRESENTATION into its cast etc. However, I was very intrigued by the symbolism of its season 2 ending, there are a lot of MAGIC PYROTECHNICS after I discovered from wikipedia that the author Robert Jordan had a background in Vietnam and US Naval warfare.
Here is literally what happens in the amzn season 2 ending:
- The main hero, hilariously named Rand, presumably after RAND Corporation ??? lol fights a suspiciously Iranian looking EVIL PERSON in a fairly stupid-looking MAGIC DUEL. Rand mostly does not do anything, because he collapsed after being stabbed by his BRITISH FRIEND by accident, but fortunately the Rand Corporation is protected by a MAGIC SHIELD from his ETHNIC GIRLFRIEND as well as another black person, they conveniently absorb the pain and ferocity of assault from all these explosions and magic fireballs hurled by Iranian ayatollah beard guy, leaving the hero unharmed and perhaps also indicative of how the Rand Corporation actually operates. The evil actor person is a pretty talented actor I think he is from Lebanon, he delivers a few suspenseful moments but all his theatrical credibility is negated as he is forced by the costume department to wear a stupid fantasy waistcoat ??? (it literally looks like the most ridiculous thing ever made) which makes it difficult to feel too much sympathy for him after he is destroyed
-Meanwhile, Rosamund Pike, who I only ever remember from that bizarre Pierce Brosnan North Korean James Bond film with Madonna, and perhaps also for ruining the cinematic film version of Doom lol, she simultaneously casts a magic sea battle spell whilst being protected by some Japanese swordsman in a metaphor unrelated to US naval strategy as she launches actual magic underwater torpedoes ?? near a suspiciously middle eastern looking sandy shoreline castle by the coast, blowing up some suspiciously Chinese looking junk sail boats populated by the evil foreign empire. This also symbolises Iran or Yemen Houthis being defeated in Bab el-Mandeb or something. Everyone cheers at the end heralding the Return Of The Dragon (it's Rand, the RAND Corporation) and commends the series for diversity of casting and international representation.
