High walls, more of those strange buildings, not to mention it’s gotten bigger than the island it was on. Built down to the damn loch’s floor it did.”
“And what about those ‘skeletons’ your first mate spoke of?” You ask.
“What of them?” He shrugs, “Sure they look strange and a few of them stared us down but they didn’t do anything. Least not to us.”
“And you sailed as far away as you could?” The inquisitor asks.
“Aye, but close enough we wouldn’t get hit by the rocks of the shore. Most we saw were the walls, damn things look impenetrable, and the building that towered over em, don’t think I’ve seen anything taller.”
“Worrying but understandable, I assume the rest of the crew will back this us?” Asher asks.
“They should, but maybe expect a few embellishments. We’re a sailing lot and we love our stories.”
“Duly noted.”
The captain’s right about that though, you don’t find anything else of note by the time you’re done investigating the crew. You rule out any talk of monsters, mermaids, and crazed fish men from their testimonies and are left. The boats going to be in Harbor for a few more days before going on another tulip run to the Merchant Provices so if you want to hear from the Clans you’re going to have to do that yourself. You’re not sure how likely they’ll like royalty barging in though, they’ve always been a barbaric lot.
By the time you’re finished, the galleon has already set off and the galley’s crew seems to have turned in for the night. The inquisitor and Marie again push for food, and you oblige, then you head back to the safe house to await the nearly settling night. After all, you have plans, but what are they?
