Lucian did not need to think very long about the words being given, “I cannot go out on the road yet. My armor and weapon have been destroyed. I only know what Morr has given me in my soul.”
It was a firm response that Lucian hoped would go over well. The first to speak out was Adok with a sudden growing concern, “Umgi, you think we should stay here?”
“I am thinking so. I know that to search for my foe I must atleast be able to learn about them. Yet I cannot even read.” The peasant knight admitted as he shook his head.
“Human lives are pretty short, how can you fulfill all your oaths and do that at the same time?” The Dwarf asked with something that Lucian realized was true only to his point of view.
“Runesmith Adok.” The words came from Remon as the man advanced forward, “I swear upon my name that it will be in one year that I can make this man into a Knight.”
“Thats quite short even for Umgi.” Adok pointed out as he realized the point quickly, “Us Dawi need ten years to be Hammerers. You can make this Umgi equal to them in a year?”
“Do you not think Lucian cannot do it?” Count Remon countered with a bit of slyness with it. The tone making it clear that the man was making more of a point than trying to intimidate the dwarf.
Adok turned his eyes towards Lucian for a moment and looked upon him. Every wound the dwarf found upon the man Lucian could tell that the Dwarf’s mood was getting just that little bit better, “I would not go easy on him, this man has fought a Warboss of the Orcs and killed it. I’ve seen him fight, his skin as thick as a Dwai with the strength of one. Better train him like a Dawi instead of an Umgi.”
“You’ll train me too?” Lucian felt a bit of hope within his heart but wondered if it was misplaced as the dwarf smiled.
“Aye, I will. By the time I’m done training you, you'll be wearing armor thrice as heavy as the last.” The Dwarf announced with a bark of laughter.
“I look forward to it.” Lucian spoke as he felt his wounds ache just that little bit more.
