>>5949117“Oliver! I heard the party from outside, what’s the good news?” The inquisitor strides into the establishment with a wide smile and false cheer air around him. How he switches from one persona to another reminds you of many nobles you’ve met.
“Inquisitor, you’re soaked.” The big man behind the counter states as he goes to clean a class, using his hand with a large bloody bandage on it to do so. Two people awkwardly pay and shuffle out of the establishment behind you, “If you must know the Purse Puncher,” he gestures to a group of four youths with his bandaged hand all of their hands are under the table, “had a big payout from hunting dire wolves. Now who's your friend? This is the first time I’ve seen you with company.”
“Ouch, Oliver that hurts,” the inquisitor feigns being hurt, “And you mean to tell me you don’t recognize her? Hmm, maybe that’s why you’re not showing proper respect. Don’t worry Princess Lorina de Lindan is an agreeable sort!” Why did he just reveal who you are? What’s he doing?
The bartender, Oliver, looks a bit nervous suddenly, “Ah, my apologies your highness. Please, there’s a booth in the back, I’ll get Clarice to get you some towels in just one moment.” With that, he retreats behind a door that is itself behind the counter and starts yelling for someone.
“Right this way, Your Highness let us enjoy this establishment's hospitality. Wouldn’t want you to tire your legs now,” the inquisitor says as he leads you to the booth furthest from the door and closest to the stairs which a sign lets you know is leading to ‘Resting Quarters’ for a price that’s shockingly low to you. Three more people leave the inn.
As the inquisitor nestles himself into the booth, back facing the door, you take a seat opposite him and witness his face morph back into a completely neutral expression. “Well?” He says in a deadpan the complete opposite of his fake cheer.
“Well, what?”
“What do we do next, rookie?”
>”We should wait for Clarice to give us towels,” Then the bartender will be back and you can ask him actual questions. Also, you’re soaked, and that’s not a nice state to be in.>”We should go and talk to these ‘Purse Punchers,’ I’m suspicious of them.”>”The bartender is obviously suspicious we should pull our weight and demand to be allowed to investigate the Inn, under threat of action.” You want to go in guns blazing.>”We should leave, I think it’s wrong to stay here.”>[Write-in]
