“Just now?” It didn’t even take Clutz an hour to realize this.

“Look at you, before you were so pleasant and kind, Emily. Do you like what you have become?” Carol misses the obedient Emily of old, who had her brain turned into mush and was a servant through a process that nobody but the leader of the cult understood.
“I wouldn’t have thought that spending time with your family was so painful for you to merit this response, but I suppose my opinion of you can get a little lower.” Emily is unpleasantly surprised.
“Woah, harsh. You’re making me sound real bad here! It’s more about me protecting you, my friends.” Carol didn’t think her comments could be misconstrued this way. “Fine, I’m calling. I need to warn you all, my mom is a goofball.”
“Did you forget who we’ve been dealing with all day today?” Vortexia points at your face with her thumb.
“Fair point.” Carol won’t argue. You resent these goofball accusations. “I’d say she’ll ruin my vibes too, but nobody cares about that. You sure this is what you all want?”
You all nod in response, heck, her description gave the other two more morbid curiosity.
“Here I go…” Back on the bed, Carol starts the video call with all of you surrounding her behind. “Mom?” She hears the call connecting.
“Hey baby~, how is it going? How did tonight’s concert go?” That’s Grace’s voice! You all see black because she probably is talking with her phone on her face.
