You were thinking of letting your family stay at Flint’s vacant apartment for the time being. At least until you could find a suitable place for them to live long-term. But before then, you should probably pay Flint a visit and ask his permission first. You’ll save that one for last, though. You definitely wanted to spend as much time with him as possible before you had to take care of business.
Once you were absolutely certain that Vic and Pete would be fine on their own, you headed back out and met back up with Cindy. She’d been killing time in an ice cream parlor and playing with your real phone. You really had to get her one someday.
After you’d gotten changed and reconnected your bluetooth, you gave Matt a call to fill him in on everything that’d transpired after your meetup with Morbius. He seemed relieved that you managed to cross Snowsnake, Carpathian and Baron Blood off of the list, but he was deeply troubled by the fact that these vampires were smart enough to circumvent their weaknesses and track down your loved ones.
You informed him of Louise’s arrival and her invitation to the Midnight Mission. Just like you, Matt was deeply suspicious of the offer. But since it was one of the only new leads that you’d gotten, you couldn't afford not to follow it up. He at least made you promise to bring him along whenever you decided to head on over to the address.

Shortly after your call, you and Cindy had arrived back at your base, practically dragging yourselves towards your beds. Already, the weariness had crept into your bones and your thoughts felt slower than usual. You couldn’t keep going full throttle at every issue that popped up. This was the other reason that you were tempted by Louise’s offer.
You hated being led around the nose, but reacting to unseen attacks by an elusive enemy was sure to lead you, or someone you love, to an early grave.
You hadn’t bothered to peel off your costume when you collapsed into bed. It still smelled like Anastasia. That being said, your last thoughts before sleep took you were admittedly pleasant ones.
—-----
It was a real, physical effort to peel yourself out of bed and turn off your alarm. Alarm clocks were noticeably less effective when you could just snag them with a poorly aimed webline and rip it out of the wall socket.
You were still a bit exhausted, but you were at least capable of functioning like a decent human being. Or…whatever it was that you were now.
Cindy’s attitude wasn’t much better, but you figured that you could let her sleep while you waited for Felicia and Prowler to arrive. While you did consider them to be allies, you didn’t feel comfortable leaving your back to them while you slept. Stealing from you is one thing, but peeking under your mask while you were unconscious was a whole other thing entirely.
