He felt a moment’s hesitation, wondering to himself if he should hold back the motions of fate that were happening to him. Were he to dawn the armor of the Black Knight he would no longer be a Peasant. All the trivialities that he entertained and enjoyed would have been destroyed in an instant.
There would be little protection even from the duke against someone like him. With the great amount of honor earned Lucian would need to fight to keep it lest someone else drain him of it. Those would not just be the Peasants who he has become a subject of fear towards but the Nobility to whom he was walking into.
Taking the helm the Peasant Squire placed it upon his head. His vision being cut into small rivets within the armor and he could hear every thoughtless breath that he was taking. He could only compare it to being within a wall or a coffin. Something that he was separating himself from the outside world within a tight space between him and the walls.
It felt natural.
“Got a nice set of armor, eh Umgi?” Adok spoke as the Dwarf walked up towards Lucian with a smile, “You put the helmet on last. It gets in the way of the straps and fittings.”
His heart surged as the Black Helmed Warrior turned towards his companion. The whirling of the world caused him to almost become sickened as the help did not allow him to get any bearings.
The next moment pain ran through his body as he fell onto the ground. His injured leg giving out as the Dwarf placed the slightest amount of pressure upon the remaining tendons. It was with luck that the helm did not fly off of Lucian as he fell onto the ground with a slam.
With a push of his arms the Peasant was able to face the ceiling. Though as he did so the world seemed to become that little bit more right.
“Nasty gash you got there, wonder why its not bleeding.” Adok said as he pulled Lucian’s leg out, “You should stay there while I get us some help to carry you, the corpse, and the armor out.”
“Th-thank you.” Lucian said as pain leeched through his leg, “I’m… going to sleep.”
“Ha, you are not getting away like that.” Lucian felt a pinch of the Dwarf, “Keep yourself awake until I get someone here!”
“But-” Before Lucian could say his words the Dwarf was gone, running as fast as his stubby feet could carry him.
