You paused, it couldn’t be, that was impossible yet you heard it clearly like a distant whale call from within the Grotto, you scrambled and swam, seized by a mad desire that you could not, would not resist to find it’s source, your torch fish darted and waved as if to get your attention frantically nibbling at each pass, you swam & crawled heedlessly as youi passed through vibrant kelp and black sand banks before halting at a clearing as the music ceased. A girl… No a sea creature lay coiled around some massive rib of coral regarding you with caution, brine, sand and fatigue blurred your vision and you felt faint, your vision ebbed darkly as it approached you.
‘’I’ll be fish food’’ you thought, it was strangely comforting you would not die alone with just your torch fish.
You felt something warm caress your cheek, softly scaled and saw big black eyes staring into yours, then something soft and wet met your lips, you gasped despite yourself as your heart leapt out of your chest as you feared it had made prey of you.
