You don’t have any real reason to think him a bad guy aside from his energy and your gut.
But again, it hasn’t led you astray thus far.
“It’s right down that way, just keep walking and you’ll get there.” You point to a random way, leading him astray.
“Damn kid,” the man laughs. “Don’t you know staring is rude? Talk about an anti-poker face.” He looks at the sky and at the shooting star. “Hum, now that’s a coincidence, Remnant really is a small place.”
‘Are we having a conversation? I don’t think so.’ “Look, we’re pretty busy.”
“Oh, sure, me too. I think that’s the ship.” He points at the opening door. “Have a safe trip and thanks for the directions.”
“Sure, you’re welcome.” You and Narci enter the transport vessel.
As the doors are closing, you see the man gesturing goodbye with two fingers. “See ya around Picaro Calavera, tell your folks Irving says hi!”
“Wait-? What?!” The man so-called Irving waits until the last second to say his line, making it impossible to question him further as you’re flown away.
You’re left standing in front of the glass door, your mind trying to make sense of what he just said.
“Sir?” Narci notices you standing there. “You okay?”
“What he said…”
“It’s not rare someone knows your name, there is a lot riding on your story, makes sense they’d try to make it as big as possible,” Narci reasons.
‘Well, this is the first time anyone who didn’t already know of me recognized me, but that’s not the most worrying part…’
“He claimed he knows my parents.”
“Well, he’s probably just some old friend. In fact,” her voice turns posh again, “I have deduced he’s one of those people you met when you were but an infant and can’t remember!”
‘Maybe, but I still can’t shake the feeling that man is bad news.’
Another mystery to think about, you’re getting tired of the questions with no answers. ‘At least this is the first time something cryptic actually appears to concern me.’
However, as the doors open and you see the state of Mantle, you realize there are more pressing matters.
