>>5952480Choosing to be honest with your closest friend, you crack a small, soft smile while rolling your shoulders. Earning Bulma's ire as you follow up with some words. "Sorry, can't say the information"
"Oh my gosh, you can be unbelievable sometimes Koku." Bulma huffs, folding her arms as she puffs her chest in annoyance.
"Sorry, but don't you like hearing yourself talk?" You point out, causing Bulma's cheeks to flusher a bit from the truth of her ranting and explanations solely to hear herself talk. There was some truth to that.
"I mean yes, that is true, but I like acknowledgement better. Especially when they're supposed to be from my best friend." Bulma harrumphs, hitting you with the two-piece combo as you feel rather bad about not fully paying attention.
Letting out an awkward laugh, you carefully rub the back of your head as you confront Bulma sincerely."I'll try better to pay attention next time. Now can you tell me what they are, or else I'm gonna assume you want to make some Buddhist bead necklaces aka Mala or something."
"Yeah, these gems right here, the dragon balls, have the power to do great things. And...not so great things as well. Let's just say if a bad person got a hold of these balls, they could wreak some havoc. The previous wish on these orbs was made to make someone a king."
"Like the Blue Brooch army... " Hearing that reveal made your anger fester intensely within your stomach, almost twisting and churning from the indignation. The slightest change in your emotion almost made your ki flicker up a bit. Catching this, you decide to calm down and focus on the bigger picture. "Well, what can these things do exactly?"
"You sure you wanna know?" Bulma asks wryly, wiggling her eyebrow a bit as she is holding one of the balls in her hand. Seeing it up close made you feel like you might have seen it before. But you couldn't exactly be sure if it was your grandma's heirloom or not. You don't recall ever seeing stars on it, but you never really looked at it closely either. All that you know is that it was orange and orb-shaped.
"Don't act coy with me, Bulma. You and I both know that I'll be tagging along your adventure either way. Especially when you told me already that they might attract the Blue Brooch army. So I would rather know what we're getting ourselves in for." You brusquely reply, getting a taste of your medicine as you start biting back at Bulma. Causing the scientist to make a smile of victory with the v symbol through the use of her index and middle finger.
"M'kay. But for the record, it's only a folktale. It took a lot of digging to uncover and even more resources even to verify the claim and get the whole story. So I wouldn't worry about the Blue Brooch army just yet." Even as Bulma says those reassuring words, you can only make a resounding pout of skepticism. You didn't want to take any chances.
