As tempting as it was to test out what you thought to be a powerful alien weapon, you had to agree that the risk of being teleported halfway across the galaxy was too high for you to actually entertain the idea. Begrudgingly, you handed the gauntlets back to Prowler and allowed him to place them back inside of the box he’d been using to contain them.
You were honestly a bit bummed that you didn’t get to try out any of the stuff that you’d picked up, but that feeling quickly evaporated when you got a chance to take a closer look at the Kree militia uniform that you stole. Now that you weren’t in a hurry, you took the time to appreciate the design and color palette of the alien fabric. It was actually sort of sick! You’d bet that with some minor alterations, you could make this into a snazzy new suit!
But, that would probably have to wait until later. You didn’t have a whole lot of time to mess around, and there were more pressing matters that you wanted to attend to. The bracelets, alien android and potential super suit would have to wait until later, unfortunately.
“You sure that’s a good idea?” Prowler said, causing you to flinch slightly. You’d nearly forgotten that he was there.
“What do you mean?”
He pointed at the Kree uniform in your hands. “Purple and green. Thought it was a ‘fashion faux pas’.”
You looked down at it, and then back at him. “Yeah, but not when I’m the one wearing it.”
“You’re full of shit, Huntsman.”
“It’s not my fault you haven’t updated your wardrobe. I, on the other hand, like to keep my options open.”
Prowler shook his head and went back to work assembling a tool of some sort.
You were a fool to show this outfit to Prowler. It was literally his favorite color-scheme! You’d have to make sure that he didn’t steal it before you got back to NY.
After laying the suit back down, you approached the inactive starship. The nose of the ship was broad and flat, and the windshield was an opaque lime green. Towards the tail end, three fins were spread out equidistantly, and a giant green booster engine was placed on either end of the ship, both taller than the ship itself was, but not nearly as wide. The vessel didn’t look like it could fit more than 6 or 8 people in it at once. At least, not comfortably.
“Do you think you can get this thing up and running, or do we need some maintenance on it?” you asked.
“Can’t. Not enough time, not enough tools, and not enough hands.”
The Prowler hadn’t even looked up to reply. He knew what you were referring to.
“Then ask Gloria for some help. I’m sure she’d be willing to get you anything you needed at a moment’s notice. We’ve pretty much got her blessing.”
This time, Prowler did look up. But instead of replying right away, he stroked his chin with clawed fingers and hummed thoughtfully.
