The clans of Neromius have launched a grand conquest of their neighbours. Border defences buckle before a fearsome onslaught of mega cavalry and metal, yet despite the threat posed by these modern barbarians the regional response is tepid. The Satellite War and its aftermath is still fresh in the collective memory and many nations no longer have the stomach for battle unless directly threatened. Indeed, the nations adjacent to the invaded countries have pledged no end of material support to their stricken neighbours, but make every excuse to avoid deploying their own military. “Let others bear the cost in blood,” they think, any amount of treasure is a small price to shield their sons and daughters from the deprivations of yet another war.
