Lucian weighed what was being presented. The honor that could be lost if such a backroom deal was struck when it was known that he did not place his full might behind the feud. In truth though he knew these were the follies of a person who was simply envious of Lucian.
“I agree within the bounds that the Lady and Morr provide. If he was killed know that it was in accident and not with malicious.” Lucian said as he gave an attempt at an assuring smile.
“I thank you for this boon.” Spoke the Duke as he grew a smile of his own, “As he is my only son there are things that I need to do to secure his livelihood. His foolishness being one of those.”
“In truth the idea of killing a Knight still does not sit well with me.” Lucian addressed the Duke, “He said what the people were thinking and I was required to lash out against it. I don’t feel like killing someone whose crime was so minimal unlike others.”
“Your heart does not need blood to heal.” The Duke said with a small laugh, “I can understand that. In my years such travesties of honor do not harm much, I worry more for the men who sit underneath me who must be my champion in such duels.”
“Really?” Lucian felt a little surprised by those words.
The late-middle aged man shook his head, “I do not see the chance of drinking from the grail in the future. If I was to go out on a Questing Oath I would have done so twenty years ago before having Gillot. Now I have two domains and a son who needs my assistance at every turn. Even if the Lady does not bless me with her chalice, at least I am honored by being a good man.”
With those words the Duke firmed his face again, “As you have not learned yet how to ride a Horse Lucian, you shall be guiding the Peasants in the same position as Count Remon. It does not carry as much glory as others, but I believe you can do so with ease.”
“I understand.” Lucian agreed. He did not know the least bit how to fight on horseback let alone how to ride oneself in a Lance.
“Good tidings to you. Enjoy the night for it is in your honor.” The Duke said as he left Lucian.
With those words exchanged Lucian looked towards the people. The crowds seemingly already drinking lots of mead and wine to the point that the spirits have their thumbs upon the Knights. He noted that the Damsel and Grail Knight had both taken their leave as well, likely not wanting to take part in the revelry to come.
For Lucian, he needed to figure out how to spend the rest of his night.
>Drink with the Knights!
>Work in the Temple Morr
>Just hang out, no reason to go too crazy.
