>The Coalition raised their new headquarters at the Princess's Dam, planning their next moves. They sent scouts ahead in the Great Swamp, finding many villages deep among the trees devoid of people. Homes were empty of any valuables, containing only carved plaques and baskets of cheap trinkets. Many of the grain stores still had much food left over, such as rice and corn. Besides mapping out the vicinity, the scouts also returned with a haul of precious amber, looted from the shrines of the villages they visited. The most notable village they encountered was an abandoned Winery, wines still fermenting in jugs. Cohorts on the cliffs spotted a village at the bottom of the cliff and witnessed fires still being lit at night.>The large-eared prisoners were sold off to the Sunken Capital in exchange for a flotilla of a few ships that could carry one cohort. When marched off, the prisoners moaned and cried at first. An officer mentioned that to almost all of them, it was their first time leaving their home, and that they were probably scared about never seeing it again. Soon, the crying was replaced by a choir of singing, a song of melancholy sung by all the prisoners in unison, its volume heard beyond the horizon. Though most of your soldiers did not know the language, they sense a feeling of homesickness in themselves just by listening to it.>Three cohorts were sent to the Carthallo Ruins and they began occupying it. They came by scores of refugees from the Sunken Capital there, and when questioned they never noticed any cohorts climbing the cliffs. They weren't exactly watching them, after all. The Cohorts begin to set up a perimeter to overlook the Great Swamp from the Carthallo Cliffs, some officers begin experimenting with methods to climb down them but found the task to be near impossible. They send for a request to interrogate a large-eared prisoner or officer or to capture a native for any information about climbing down such perilous heights.Insightful Lieutenant's lens flared.
<span class="mu-i">"The natives primarily traverse through the woods on foot, but their army uses the rivers to navigate. We would invite murder should we try to move our army through the woods, and our men are poorly suited for combat on the waters against these waterborne traitors. The mountain pass also leads further up to the mountains that stand over the Great Swamp. We can decide to proceed with caution, or allow our scouts to map out the surroundings more, but that may give more time for the enemy to entrench themselves. These traitors have around one legion, and with three out there should be around seven left to worry about. Though we still outnumber them, we are lurking in their perilous home they know so well."</span>
