Lucian looked at all the things that were hanging around. The thin layer of dust upon them and how sparse the room really was. Really what could he be expecting coming into this room? The man would not have written down the person to whom killed him for sure.
That would indeed be the case. If he knew he was being targeted then he would have tried to alert the Priesthood at the very least.
Lucian looked over to see the woman was already halfway down the staircase. Quickly he called out to her, “Uh, Ma’am.”
As if death had come calling the woman quickly stopped in her tracks upon hearing her person be called. Slowly she looked over her should but did not turn fully to face Lucian, “I-is there something else you need?”
“Yes, I was wondering if I could talk to one of his friends.” Lucian said as he took a step towards the person, “If that is fine with you.”
The woman looked somewhat concerned but gave a nod to those words, “Y-yes sire, I can lead you to Dorthy. She is down this way.”
Lucian looked over towards Adok and saw that the Dwarf was already making his way through a book that he picked up. The Dwarf looked upon from the tome and gave the peasant a nod of understanding.
“If you can lead me to her.” Lucian answered as he was now free to do what he wished.
Without another word the woman took Lucian down a flight of stairs. Unlike the top a moment before this was something much closer to a hallway than an attic that was Samuelson’s room. The old lady did not need to walk far and knocked on the door in a fashion that would have upset a nobleman at how crude its rhythm was.
“Dorthy,” The woman called out harshly before looking towards Lucian, “A Squire needs you.”
There was the sound of a sudden crash as the words Squire reached the person on the other side of the door. Lucian could hear the moving of wood coming across the door as what must have been a bar was lifted from the front of it.
After that, the door opened to reveal a woman.
