Suan De slowly nods like some sort of secret agent following orders. “What am I in for exactly?” She feels like she’s ready for a briefing now that you’re taking this seriously.
“Oh, you’re in for a treat! Johnny wants to bust an old friend out of jail. Like, she’s in the highest security prison in the country.” Scarlet softens the blow.
“Your objective is to break into <span class="mu-s">Shotgun Kiss</span>?” Suan De wants you two to clarify.
“I-Is that what the prison is called?” Scarlet didn’t know.
“Not officially. No state secret has a name.” Suan De is a little familiar with the place.
“You’re not having second thoughts?” You don’t want Suan De to get into this out of duty if she fears for her life.
“Don’t underestimate me.” Suan De is relishing the challenge. If your idea wasn’t as chaotic, she probably wouldn’t have cared, but now? She’s emotionally invested.
“Let’s move on, ladies! With enough prep, we will turn this awful idea into a bad one.” You say with the confidence of a heroic paraplegic stuntman.
“Meow.” Bradford Jr. agrees and leads everyone to the PC. Or he went to your room because he likes it. You don’t know if you can communicate with your cat yet, but you feel a deep connection somehow.
Enough ramblings, you take Dorothy’s PC to the base! It feels like it’s been years since you had this thing, but it can’t be, it’s only been a couple of months! No one could blame you for never checking it, no sir, those who do, well, they’re completely unfair and unkind. It’s not like anyone cares, besides, didn’t you see pretty much everything important during the Bubble Arc while going through the Duck’s memory? But you have to think positive, maybe there’s something else aside from the Prison’s map! It’s already thinking too positively that the map is in it.
“Vera, Liu, this is Suan De. She’s part of the team too!” You introduce the mythological creature to your fan club. They’re too busy petting the real star of the show: Bradford Jr.
“Meow!” Bradford Jr. loves getting pet!
“This is the woman you slapped on the chest for 30 minutes?” Vera asks as she takes her eyes away from your fluffy fellow for a moment.
“She lasted way less…” Liu clarifies, then immediately regrets doing so upon looking at Suan De’s reaction.
“You enjoy humiliating me, don’t you?” Suan De grits her teeth. You squandered the little good will you were earning. To be fair, there’s no good spin you can give to your first meeting. She’s plain weird.
