<span class="mu-s">"Why?"</span> The Silver Agent pauses for a moment. <span class="mu-s">"You're not bright, are you? You use the reason why every single day. Telekinesis. Body puppeteering. Who knows what else you could develop if our many eyes didn't stare you down?"</span> <<span class="mu-b">"She's already a Type 2. Current estimations say she'll develop into a Type 3 within a few months, Type 4 within a year. Need to reconnect with HQ, we already figured out to reliably manifest a Type 4 after the experiment she interrupted.</span>>
That makes a modicum of sense. Doesn't mean you have to like it. "You think I fucking know how I got these powers? I didn't go out looking for them! Hell, that doesn't justify keeping an eye on my pals! I get why you would observe her-" You gesture at Naomi. Kiara and Alexis are still busy trying to calm her down from whatever mental state she entered. "But me? The dozens of other people I met? I had a NORMAL life before all of this!"
All you want is a normal life. A family, a friend group, ANYTHING
<span class="mu-s">"That's the thing. We don't know what the manifestation conditions for your kind are. Mere exposure might be enough. So, by nature of that, they are observed until they are deemed non-anomalous."</span> His eyes narrow, you think. <span class="mu-s">"That and in case they assist you in ways we deem unsuitable to our operations."</span> <<span class="mu-b">"It's simply easier to deal with one threat, after all."</span>>
Type 2? Type 3? 4? The hell does any of that mean? You got a rough idea on what that might mean given the last sentence you heard in his mind.
Alexis leaves to talk to Naomi in private near the entrance, leaving you alone with Kiara and the Agent. You take a drag of one of your Martlo Cigarettes to regain some focus. Kiara steps up towards the glass wall with her camera in hand. The static covering the Agent's face only seems to intensify when he notices this. A flurry of blinding lights coming from her camera damn near blinds you if it wasn't for you putting your shades back on in time.
Given the Silver Agent is, well, stuck in a prison cell and tied up? He can't really do anything about it aside from staring at you two with what you think is a smile. Hard to tell under the static covering his face. You're not sure how the hell that works but it hurts to look at.
"Penny for your thought." Kiara's voicebox squawks out with obvious hesitation. It's like she's not even sure if she should be talking to him. "What's the point of all of this? What is your group's goals?"
The Agent immediately locks up upon hearing this. <span class="mu-s">"Why would I tell you? I humored your previous questions but-"</span>
[ANDROID PHYSIOLOGY] "Everything has a set logic to it in my eyes. Action A causes Outcome B. Someone does Action C in response, causing Outcome D. You can't seriously tell me you're doing this for the sake of it."
<span class="mu-s">"Like a non-sentient machine would understand. We have to build your kind in a specific way to even be remotely useful to our ends."</span>
