Well, maybe this way you can interact with people without scaring others. Being with the so-called “top ranks” was also interesting. That had to include the student council.
“Sure. but if you don’t mind me asking. Why me?”
Eukar nodded with a close lipped smile, though you already noticed her sharp canines. A half-gnoll, you heard of them but never saw one until her. She could pass for a different beast-folk, maybe a leonin or some other canine species.
“You possess skills that we look for. And…” She paused for a brief moment. “I owe my life to the bloodletters, they rescued my family when I was a child.”
“Another bloodletter?”
“Yes, I was adopted by a beast-folk caravan and we were ironically attacked by gnolls. We would have all died if not for him. I know your… colleagues. Is that the right word?”
“Technically, I’m not a full fledged Bloodletter yet.”
“What makes a full fledged Bloodletter?”
“I choose a Hemocraft School, it’s a specialization. My mentor is in the Red Wake School, he uses hemocraft that enhances his body. That doesn’t mean we’re bound to one style, just how we prefer to fight.”
She nodded attentively.
“Interesting. But yes, that is why I wish you to join us and I’m glad you did.” Eukar set her tea cup without a sound. “I won’t have an assignment yet, but until you do please enjoy the academy. If there’s something you wish to pursue, the academy will provide it. If I may ask, do you have plans this weekend?”
