To your and Prowler’s great relief, your employer was more than willing to provide you with anything you needed. That included an expedited engineering crew who had some experience fiddling with illegal alien technology. They were instructed to follow every order Prowler gave them without question, and they immediately got to work without complaint.
You were called over every now and again when they needed someone to do heavy lifting, but other than that, you were pretty much free to do whatever you wanted. And in this situation, you thought it best to experiment with the arsenal of alien weaponry that you snagged from the vault.
First, you tried out the various handguns and oddly shaped handheld weapons, six of which were energy weapons. Their firepower varied slightly, and the projectiles they fired usually came in the form of a plasma bolt or a short burst of dense electricity that would likely overload the nervous system of any organic that you used it on. You were also surprised to learn that a few of the pistols used solid projectiles. They packed a way bigger punch than anything you’ve seen manufactured on Earth in a commercial capacity. The solid projectile pistols felt better–more natural to fire. There was just something so satisfying about seeing a bullet punch a hole through solid concrete.
Next came the rifles. Those took a bit longer for you to get the hang of. Mostly because you’d never fired a rifle. Never had a reason to, really. Even before you became a mutate, you only ever carried around handguns, and your employers never pressed you to upgrade your arsenal. Maybe things would’ve been different if you were running around with the big boys. You probably would’ve needed it if you were facing off against the Vulture gang without any powers, but they were a group that you didn’t have to worry about anymore.
Obviously, the rifles packed a bigger punch than the handguns, and you were more than strong enough to compensate for the recoil between shots. Another thing you’d noticed is that your aim was nothing short of impeccable ever since you became the Huntsman. You simply…didn’t miss that often, if at all.
Whenever you swung through the city and chained weblines from building to building, you never had a doubt in your mind that your webs would find their target. Unless there was outside interference, you would always hit your mark. The same was true for when you were handling firearms, or even just using your Hidden Guns. It was a wonderfully convenient skill to have if you were being honest.
