“I’ll keep Silas busy while you sneak into his office. But before you get in there, see if you can’t meet up with the Deep One to hand off Araña’s cloaking device.” you decided.
She nodded, decelerating the car and easing it into a nearby parking lot. “Sounds simple enough. Even with their beefed up security, I doubt they’re prepared to deal with us right now.” she reasoned.
“Try not to have too much fun in there. We’ve still got another place to hit after this.”
She gave you a playful wink. “Who, me? Why, I’d never jeopardize the mission to steal that priceless emerald hidden in the second drawer in the desk of his personal office.”
You looked over to find that she had a far-off starry look in her eyes.
“...Cat?”
“Hm?”
She had an innocent look on her face that was entirely unconvincing to anyone that truly knew her.
“Have you…already broken into his office before?”
Her face suddenly took on an overly dramatic, scandalized expression. “Of course not! Gloria told us all this during the debrief.”
You were completely certain that she didn’t.
“So long as you don’t get caught, I don’t care if you break into his office or place his hand in a warm glass of water while he’s sleeping.” you said with a shrug.
Cat made a thoughtful sound and tapped the side of her face. “Do you think I should? I wonder if I’d get paid more if I slipped a laxative in his morning coffee. You can’t organize a retaliation if you’re constantly on the verge of shitting your pants.”
You rolled your eyes at her. “Do you seriously think that a man as powerful and important as Silas Thorne would bother shitting his own pants? He’d probably just hire someone else to shit his pants for him.”
The two of you spent an unnecessary amount of time laughing at Silas’ expense. More than you should’ve but you needed to wait for Iara to get into position anyway. When she was close enough, Felicia climbed out of the car and made off in the direction that she’d most likely be coming from.
“Wish me luck!” she called back, before disappearing into a passing crowd with the black fabric from Rollo’s vault in hand.
You slid into the driver’s seat, getting in one last chuckle before pulling out of the parking lot. It was time to do your part.

Even though Gloria debriefed you on what to expect from the Forbidden City, it was still a sight to behold. There were clear Chinese influences in every design, from the guardian lions out front, to the classic oriental architecture at its entrance. But the most shocking thing was seeing Silas Thorne standing outside waiting for you, surrounded by an army of ninjas!
