Beren's expression softens a little before turning back to a scowl, "I don't see what you could possibly gain from his teachings but fine. Just make sure your time in the castle doesn't fill your head with fantasies, it'll be right back to working for a living when you're done." His last words come with a note of finality and he snuffs out the lone candle lighting the room before turning towards the wall to sleep.
The events of the morning make it clear that Beren is the only one opposing the position offered by Invictus. Your mother set out a lavish breakfast consisting of everyone's favorites and, even though he was up early for work for once, your father was all smiles, occasionally throwing proud looks your way. Beren was the odd one out, completing all of his morning chores (along with yours) and only grabbing a few slices of bread to take with him before stringing his bow and heading out the door. Soon after your parents followed, heading out to their respective day jobs leaving you alone and wondering what to do. With your own work on the horizon no one would bother you to come spend the day working with them, leaving you with a few days of free time. Beren's words weigh heavily on your mind still, and you ponder how to best prepare yourself for the weekend.
