The slaughter of the Orcs continued all through the night but the role that Lucian was to pay in it were minimal. His Peasant Mobs were reduced to near twin digits and his armor was turned into ruin. To say that many who witnessed him were dumbfounded was an understatement of his injuries.
Indeed Lucian had not realized half of them while he was upon the field. Several gashes that were up to two inches deep were present all across his body. He stood upright only because the bleeding from each of these wounds seemed to have stopped during his fight with the Warboss. If that was not the case his death would have come the moment the lance of Gillot entered the heart of the beast.
Yet it had not. Morr did not see today as the time to claim the one who was clearly his champion. Even his horse, Nightshade, was collected as the beast had wisely ran back to the peasant mobs to be defended against the incoming horde of orcs. In the end it was still a beast and saw the preservation of itself instead of new rider.
The Horse, having gotten together with the mob had also linked with Adok. The Dwarf helping the knight upon the steed as it would be right for a knight to march into the camp upon horseback if he can help it.
“Mighty blow you did there!” Laughed the Dwarf as he walked over to the corpse of the Orc, “Damned human staffs can’t withstand a little orc brutality it seems.:
The Dwarf walked over to the head of the Warboss, but before he could take a step Lucian called out, “Don’t remove it yet. We need the evidence.”
“Oh, was it about that one lad who stabbed the Warbosss while you were stabbing it? I saw it from afar and it was quite something. You think he is planning to take your kill?” The DWarf guessed with a sort of frown.
“Yes, it was Gillot who gave that blow after all.” The injured knight said as he got Nightshade to walk towards the warboss.
“Ha, so he did? Where did the lad run off to?” The Dwarf asked as he looked over the corpse. The dwarf knocked on the iron armor the creature was wearing with a good amount of suspicion. He mumbled something about Black Orcs before giving the armor a solid kick.
“Getting his father it seems.” Lucian said as he looked over to see what was clearly the court advancing towards them.
