>>5812724>>5813309>>5813322The three of you stand in a line, with Kiikoinen to your left and Fahy to your right. Raising your pneumatic axe over your shoulder is how Kiikoinen taught you to fight in these tight situations, preparing yourself for strong vertical chops to cut that abomination's face in half. Fahy enters a stance of one sword low and the other high, likely meant to be defensive first and punishing second. Kiikoinen glances back at you two rookies, and does... a doubletake?
With a burst of strength, the beasts break apart from each other and spread out. They're trying to encircle you, like a pack of wolves.
Eager to put this technology and training bestowed upon you to use, you rush ahead, lean in close to the aberration, and activate your axe. With the press of a button as you begin to manually swing, you hear a faint hiss before a pale jet of gas erupts from the blunt end of the axe bit. The jet turns the axe into a pendulum, your arm a fulcrum, your body a grandfather clock of death tolling the end of this aberration's disgusting existence. Though it opened its maw wide, your blade bit into its face and never stopped, not for the fatty tissue, not for the muscle, and not for the skull either. The axe shreds through it effortlessly. The hot hydrogen exhaust mixes with the oxygen in the air, and a trail of vapor rises from the path the axe took.
Unfamiliar though this beast is, you do know that your strike missed the mark of its brain, and though the abomination recoiled in pain, it still lived. Your revulsion of this thing makes you eager to swing again.
As the beast swung around, Fahy swiped at it with the low machete. It was out of reach at that moment, warded off by the blades, but as Saemus went to dip in to thrust, the monster jumped and bit his arm at the wirst. He yelped, and began jabbing at the mass of flesh indiscriminately, firing the stun charge to little effect now that it has already bitten down on him.
