Such that after awhile and annoyance, you find yourself sitting out on the sidelines as usual but this time fuming. Anger for the treatment, anger for the loss of your friend, anger for the seeming lack of reward for all your hardships. And the only available shoulder to metaphorically cry on? Your old rival knight, Sir Harren.
<span class="mu-s">"...so then, troll?"</span>
<span class="mu-g">"So then... humie knight kept his word and helped Strogga. You can leave in the mor-ning, go home and don't come back... ah, take the elvie priest with you when you go. That's all Strogga ask."</span>
How strange it feels, to have come full circle in a sense. Harren is the first human you've been on a name basis in a long time, since you began this whole trouble with focusing on the town. Known him longer than Davith, even if it wasn't on good terms. In the end though you both played your part in all this, and as he made his promise you too can make yours and free him. When he could have probably escaped or fought his way to freedom but instead swore an oath and kept to it. For that at least, you can finally release him after this month-and-some passed. Or at least tell him that, who's to say what you might actually do before he actually departs tomorrow morning.
For now though, the rest of the night you're content to stew in frustration and hope to get over it, so that you can focus on... well, what comes next now. Something you never expected at any point during this whole long struggle of yours; to actually end up with a village of humans to your name, to do as you please in an official capacity. For the time being at least, it wouldn't surprise you if Baron Clarence or his peers try to cause you trouble due to their own upset of your position.
But at least you're able to establish a remembrance of your fallen friend, able to try and celebrate some of this annoyance away, and able to rest easy for once. All the trouble you faced so far, just for this... if you weren't so compelled to properly establish yourself as "troll queen", you'd question if it was all worth it. For example if you want to focus on whatever human settlement comes next after Kasvald, will you also have to go through all the same troubles and pain and loss? Each time?
It's not easy being a ruler! But if that's just how it is, then that's just what you'll have to do you suppose.
