>>5970390Your eyes dart around the cart to try and find any lasting damage but not cry out to you as needing immediate attention. In the face of the sights before them, most of the passengers here have simply frozen in shock and are just now coming out of the sensation. A few look a bit roughed up but that’s about the worst you can see. Past the two people in the aisle, you see the conductor finally approaching from another cart and realize it might be best to let the man handle the passengers for now, there’s probably some procedure in place he can follow. You hope.
“You two,” You say trying to sound as authoritative as you can, “I believe we have much to discuss, privately. Follow me,” Asher raises an eyebrow at your statement but ultimately shrugs and follows your lead. The woman also follows you, not really sure what else to do. You hear her give a small and awkward apology to the conductor about the roof as you pass the man.
Naturally, since the three of you are quite filthy you do not direct them to your room, lest they soil your luggage with blood, and instead walk straight to the inquisitors. You take the initiative to sit down on one of the two chairs and the inquisitor lets the woman take the other one, before closing the door and pressing his back to it. The only escape route from here would either be to open the window or break through the wall, you’re unsure if the woman could do either but it certainly is possible.
“So are you guys adventurers too?” The woman says after an uncomfortable silence, “Because that was brutal out there, I don’t- I mean I didn’t know that fighting could be so- yeah.”
“So what? What exactly were you expecting to happen when you crashed into the train?” You ask, confused.
“Ah!” She startles a bit at your tone, “I just- well I thought that I’d show up, defeat the bad guys, and get them all arrested or something.”
“You do know they’d be executed anyways were they to be arrested, right?” Did she think she could fight people without anyone dying?
“O-of course I knew that!” Her tone makes it clear they did not in fact know that, “It’s- it would be- I didn’t-”
“Alright, that’s enough,” Comes the stern voice of the inquisitor, “Look lady does the word ‘Japan’ or ‘Earth’ mean anything to you?” He asks.
The woman's face blanks for a second before it lights up like an explosion as she bounces in her seat, “Wait, Japan!? Did- did you get Isekai’d too? I thought I was all alone out here, so I’ve just been working with the guild- Wait are you adventurers too?! Is that why you’re so skilled? I only got my super awesome sword but wait then who is this?” She says as she looks towards you, “If you got isekai’d too is she the designated waifu of the story,” The what? “Oh, that’s so cool! Now I can talk to someone about stuff from back home-”
