Making my way off the First Step, I do what every player did in their first instant: Behold the Erdtree, and the world that stretches out before me. Breathe in its open-world nature, much unlike the tight corridors of its predecessors.
Then promptly freak the fuck out over the fact that I'm in here. I'm familiar enough with the concept of an isekai to grasp what's just happened, and realise how badly unprepared I am. Clad in a brown and beige striped shirt, jeans, shoes with the laces becoming too loose, and a simple canvas belt, I'm feeling rather fucked.
Is Varre around, or is he still off?
