Every now and again, he formed a pair of fists to smash the cement blocks apart, and other times, he would send the broken blocks hurtling into one another, but that took significantly longer than just punching the place with a giant, sandy fist. Eventually, though, he managed to find the most optimal method to cause the most devastation in the shortest amount of time. It involved him flooding the casino with the majority of his grainy mass and commanding it to expand rapidly.
And that was how the Devil’s Den vanished in minutes. In a sandy explosion that blew its foundations clean off. There were no words to describe how satisfying and terrifying the entire event had been. Once again, you were incredibly grateful that the man hadn’t held a grudge towards you for playing a part in his fateful transformation.
Black Cat whistled.
“You know, every now and again I remember why he’s our trump card.”
Prowler nodded without taking his eyes off of the spectacle.
“Damn straight.”
Ana glanced at them in confusion, and then turned her attention to you.
“I thought you said that you were their trump card.”
You shrugged.
“I’m more like the ‘main event’.”
“Well I’ve got good news for you, Mr. ‘Main Event’. It doesn’t look like our job’s done yet.”
You followed Elsa’s finger to the epicenter of Flint’s attack, squinting to see what it was that she was seeing through the thick cloud of dust and debris. And when you saw it, your eyes widened.
A massive, gaping pit, wider than the casino had been, and unfathomably deep, was now completely exposed. Some of the braver citizens were gathering around it and trying to gauge its depth.
“Bloody hell. Looks like we were right on the money. Degli’s got one hell of a man cave hidden under his casino.”
Ana shot you and your fellow Desperados a questioning look.
“We’re going down there?”
The three of you exchanged a long, meaningful look, but it was quickly interrupted by a series of loud, piercing shrieks. The city went silent as they listened. There was something distinctly inhuman about the sounds echoing out of that pit.
“Oh, bollocks. I know that sound.”
Everyone looked at Elsa.
“That’s the sound of a horde of royally pissed off demons.”
The Prowler cursed.
“And we just kicked their front door in.”
