The trip back to the Castle was only eventful for the fact that a giant lizard being ridden by another equally unique lizard was next to Lucian and Adok. For Bok’s immense size the large beast did not have any issues keeping with the two more mounted fellows. With this fact Lucian was placed just a little more at ease for their journey.
Peasants were terrorized as they walked up past the villages. It was not far outside the realm of chance for Lucian, who bore the raven of Morr upon both his banner and his helm, but the response was in response to the giant monster that was now following them.
There was no heed placed for them. While Lucian had come up from the hovel of Peasants he had learned just how foolish these kinds of people were. He had seen them numerous times cheat, steal, and lie for whatever gain they could have.
Such a thing does happen with the Nobles, but Lucian had seen this happen to the children by their very own parents. It seemed that only his village of Verac was unlike this. Such was probably why the demons of Chaos killed everyone who lived there with impunity.
Walking up to the castle Lucian saw a messenger who ran up the moment Lucian was in sight. He almost fell over upon seeing the pair of lizards that were walking at the middle of this little caravan of theirs.
“Luke!” Lucian called out to the butler with a firmness that snapped him out of thinking, “What has happened? You seem troubled.”
“M-My lord!” He cried like a banshee, “The King is Dead, the King is Dead!”
Without a second thought Lucian snapped on the reigns of Nightshade and drove the beast through the gates of the castle. Without error or delay the two followed Lucian without a single guard stopping the lizards. Such was the peril each of them were in from the news.
