"Don't worry about the tickets." You gesture at your group to follow you onto the train heading to District 24. You immediately notice that nobody is on this train. It's completely empty. Zilch. Nada. Ghost town. At least your group has more leg room? As you and your allies find yourself some seats on the empty train, you try to think of what to say to your allies-
Annnd you damn near get knocked unconscious by the train immediately going from 0 to 200 the moment your group sat down. The others immediately grabbed onto some nearby handrails to ground themselves while you're nearly sent flying. With some quick reflexes, you manage to grab onto a handrail as well to ground yourself.
Once you adjust to the speed the train is going, your group manages to sit down. Like normal people. On a normal train.
"First time?" Naomi gently asks.
"Her first time." Kiara nods.
"I was like that the first time as well." Alexis tries to hide her smirk (and fails. horribly.)
You have no fucking idea what they're on about and the expression you make seems to make that evident to the others. Naomi leans back in the cheap plastic seating. "They prefer getting people to and from their district as fast as possible. I believe it's a matter of efficiency?"
"Part efficiency, part hazing ritual." Kiara chimes in. "Case in point, our boss nearly cracked her head open because of it."
"You're the one who got the tickets, you probably should've known." Alexis, despite you not wanting to agree, rightfully points out your error. Kiara glances at the two other allies you hired. "Mind if I ask why it's all girls this time?"
"Ah. So you know how X-Corp is looking for new recruits? We're here to test out ways they could try getting more recruits and, uh, since most of the able bodied men are being headhunted by other companies..."
"Ah, okay." Alexis nods with an understanding look. "Due to a lack of their usual resources, they're attempting to expand into a new market. Understandable."
"Yeah. The other options I was presented was brokering a deal to get specially produced combat Androids and or Drones. Which I hope you guys can help me with." You glance out of the window behind your seat. You're immediately taken back by the fact you already arrived at your destination. "Huh."
The moment your group exits the train, it immediately speeds off like it was never there at all. You take a moment to process your new surroundings and once it sinks in, you realize that you have never quite been to a place like this before in the City
You're seemingly in the middle of nowhere with only endless stretches of sand as company with the exception of, well, a military base. A chainlink fence completely surrounds the perimeter of the base. Razor sharp barbed wire covers the top of the fence and the faint buzzing in the air tells you that it's electrified.
Two watchtowers surround the gate leading into the base. Oh. Those two snipers inside them are aiming RIGHT at you.
