hello, new here
have not posted before, but have lurked for about a month and a half and read a few guides and such
going to ask a few questions, such as the following
>what exactly is Chargen? Have seen it a few times but don't know what it means. Considering the accompanied descriptions i'm guessing it relates to doing extensive quizzes or something to start, without making a narrative to go along with it, but i'm not confident
>If one drawfags for an OP and some following replies, are they obligated to continue drawfagging for the entire quest or is it okay for them to eventually just default to images or is that considered lazy?
>How extensively should you plan out your quest? Just have a good idea of how a few starting branches will go and wing it from there? Or extensively plan a few entire storylines based on possible choices the players might make?
>Is it considered bad manners to make a quest on something very similar to a long-running existing one? I was planning on basing mine off an IP I love, but it seems there's already 2 long-running quests on here relating to it
>Is Twitter mandatory? I don't want to touch that hellsite, i'd much rather use a personal website or something akin to that. I don't see many Twitters attached in OPs so I assume not, but I'm asking just in case
>How long is it until a quest is generally considered "dead"? I've seen people declare ones without a response in 2 days DOA, while others have been fine even after 2 weeks. Very hard to parse what the general timespan is.
>Can someone point me to a few very good finished quests without dead links? Every time i've tried to find archives of completed stuff I've been stopped short just before actually being able to read the quest.
and answer a few as well
>In general, do you prefer outright evil antagonists, or ones coming from a more understandable place?
it honestly depends on my mood
usually I prefer straight evil, but if I'm feeling broody I want something more sympathetic. Straight evil is way easier to get right, though, and makes the plot so much less complicated.
>There is no question. Vote. Why aren't you voting yet?
I don't know what you mean, sorry!
would appreciate answers, though I realize i'm demanding a lot
apologies if it's a bit much
