The small lizard was much different from its greater. Where the former had muscles that were as thick as Lucian this little one looked to have been made of sticks. As the former was a giant who had the wrath of its primordial gods quaking within its body, this one was roughly the size of a child just creating his tenth birthday. In an odd, bizarre sense, he could describe it as cute with being so small and wearing a massive head dress made of gold.
Both of them, Lucian realized, were white with yellow stripes going down their backs. Such detail quickly reminded Lucian of the heraldry of the Bretonnian Knights, except this was displayed upon the body of the strange creatures.
Being within the hands of the larger lizard placed the small one at eye level to Lucian who was still upon Nightshade. It shined, what Lucian felt most surprising as all, a smile.
A series of clicks and tones came before it finally spoke, “Warmblood, thank you!” It spoke in a somewhat broken tongue of mankind, “We, Children of Old Ones, appreciate assistance.”
“You talk?” Lucian could not help but express his surprise for beyond all things, seeing lizards talk was the most outrageous thing he has ever seen in his life.
“Yes, Tee-Ny-Tyny talks tongue of warmbloods.” The lizard expressed with regalness somehow captured within the butchered tone of the lizard, “Warmblood, you are, who are you?”
“I…” Lucian shook himself quickly to simply forget the oddity of the situation and express his words, “I am Lucian the Durand, of Verac, Blessed of Morr, Knight Errant, and rider of Nightshade.”
The lizard gave a series of nods that showed the enthusiasm it had for the moment, “Tee-Ny-Tyny, Mage-Priest of Itza and fellow to Bok. The Old Ones have foretold of this day.”
Lucian could not help but feel somewhat confused at those words, “Old Ones?”
“Yes, Old One. As Gods are to you, they are onto us.” The creature placed out, “They were the ones who built this world. Those who foretold everything that has both had and will happen. They said, in times before us, that we should meet.”
>Bullshit
>You knew?
>Okay, that sounds cool.
