"OF COURSE NOT-" Marla pauses. "Well, golly, I would hope so. Our policy is to send everything immediately to our vault and to keep a rigorous count of every single bill before any money goes anywhere. If anyone tries skipping this, I would spot them IMMEDIATELY!"
"Well, who has access to the vault then?" Adam pipes up.
"Me, Clyde, Clover, and Kana. That's that!" Before any of you have time to ask further questions, she pushes past your group with fury in her eyes. She's probably going to be busy for a while. You now have access to the camera room and all that entails.
"Welp. Ben, I hope you know how to fiddle with this. I might need your help." Adam makes a beeline right towards the desk. Benjamin follows right behind him and soon, they're messing around with the security system. You have no idea what they're doing.
"Uh?" All you can make out is them flipping through a LOT of screens and typing some weird lines into one of the various consoles. While Ashley moves to watch the door, you and Max decide to focus your attention on the various monitors recording the various floors of the casino.
You get visuals on everyone on Max's list, though the quality of the footage is remarkably shitty so you can only make out a general impression of what they're doing
-A man in a poncho is having a heated argument about something with six other people inside of an office on "COMMON SECTION F4". Whatever's going on, the poncho man is the one yelling the most.
-A young woman with a vacant smile and stare is wandering around on "VIP SECTION F2", clearly stressed out.
-For a moment you thought your meds wore off. A woman with a fox's head is currently sitting inside an office with piles of paperwork all over her desk on "COMMON SECTION F2".
-A brick shithouse of a man in full ETF agent attire, armed with a shotgun, is outside of a giant vault door. The camera labels where he's at as "EMPLOYEES ONLY F3". You got confirmation on where the vault is now.
"You know," Max chimes in. "If anyone could be cheating your boss out of his money, wouldn't someone who's smart with money be able to do that? Maybe we can convince them Kana's fucking them over."
"I mean, sure, that would be a reasonable guess but-" You pause. Something about that sounds off for some reason. "Even if that is true, we would need some pretty damning evidence to convince them. Me and Ash at least knew the Dealer was cheating."
"Right, right." Max's usual smug smile is completely gone now. "It's just not the first time I've heard of a story like this, you know? Something good being done and all of it is ruined because of one bad actor. Someone has to be stealing money, so...seems like the obvious candidate."
"Does it matter, though? My job here is to get his money back and get out in one piece. Getting into the vault is the priority here."
"I guess it doesn't. Is it wrong in me wanting a better outcome, though?" You're unsure as to how to handle her sudden tone shift.
