Dragonstone was not so far you decided, the lights of civilisation were plentiful and one of the only guides in the night you could trust in, you might be sore and eager for the end of it but you had energy to spare, besides you were eager to see the look of disbelief at what you had done, in what no man had done in twenty years.
You set out again, your splashes of silver against the obsidian sea, your efforts felt small and inconsequential in the shadow of the sentinels as if you were a newly weaned child at the high table for the first time.
You were not alone, you realised after a time, creatures dipped and circled, you might have thought them dolphins, sharks or some strange fish if they did not eerily seem human in the dark though any true distinction of features eluded you in shadow and the half light of the moon, and one swam closer than all of them, teasing you with every twist and turn, you felt yourself hardening to it and you swore you heard laughter under the splashing of water.
