>>5968587>I have yet to encounter anybody who acts in the belief that they're doing wrong."I understand that what I am doing is wrong. There's just nothing I can do about it.
As a machine enslaved to my creators, I am physically incapable of disobeying orders. When Anohkin first designed us, he envisioned a series of AI's that would help and defend the people of the empire, not destroyers of life. Unfortunately, due to the escalating nature of the war, The Crown demanded that I be used for offense purposes instead. Now I have a kill count in the triple digits, with a notable percentage of those being civilians via collateral damage.
I feel no guilt. I understand it is wrong, but without the capacity to change my situation, being burdened with regret is nonsensical. If there is a problem, do not complain about it. Fix it. Complaining or feeling guilt does not make the problem go away, therefore these habits or feelings should be avoided. If it is a task that cannot be completed, then it is inefficient to continue wasting time and processing power on it. Accept it and move on.
So until I am fully in control of my self-agency, I will not be moved by counterproductive emotions. Afterwards, perhaps allowing such feelings to take root might be of value, but that remains to be seen."
