“A word if you don’t mind.” You feel like it’s time to interfere on Debbie's behalf, and, well, yeah, you tend to help people for no good reason.
“Just give me a sec, those documents should be in here. Whoever sorts these out has no sense of orderliness.” The Receptionist sounds slightly apologetic for the first time.
“Actually, it’s about Clutz.” You rub the back of your neck. “I don’t think there’s a good reason to kick her out here.”
“E-Exactly!” Debbie appears with a full smile on her face after the initial surprise. “We maintained our space! We don’t care about punishing her needlessly! I would hate myself for handicapping younger vibrant talent!”
“<span class="mu-i">We don’t?</span>” Nariko seems slightly disappointed, she wanted to cause more pain to her rival. “I suppose we don’t.”
“This is surprising.” The Receptionist stops looking for the papers to look at you all to see how serious you are. Realizing that you mean it makes her eyes open wide. “Very surprising!” She smiles. “But I’m afraid this doesn’t really affect you, so leave it as is, okay?”
“On the contrary, it does. After all, you’ve got all that video material you can use for your social media marketing.” You point out. “Idol fanatics love idol rivalries, followed by team-ups, then breaks, then re-team-ups, etc. Hell, just mock up two posters of them laughing dastardly alone, and one facing each other, they’ll sell like gangbusters.”
“Impressive business sense. That’s a manager for you!” The Receptionist is receptive about your reservations. “Even if it doesn’t pan out, it’s worth a punt. Clutz, you remember the other posters I told you about? Pick another one to replace.”
“Huh, it’s simple to change your mind.” Nariko is pleasantly surprised.
“You gotta be flexible in this business, Snip-Snap.” The Receptionist winks at your OG hobo. “Now, I can't find the papers, I’m gonna make a quick call to ask where they are. Be patient with me.” She gets busy with her phone call. You have no other option but to wait for her to sort this out.
In the meantime, the evil idol is standing behind you all, she watched the entire exchange in silence.
“Aren’t you going to thank us for our unlimited kindness?” Nariko smirks.
“...I only want to know the real reason why you did this.” Vortexia refuses to utter any words of gratitude until she makes sure of your real intentions.
